This rare Stanley Rule & Level Co. No. 723 Breast Drill is in Good condition with most of the finish remaining on the gear. The finish has worn off the side of the breast plate which rests against the users chest. It has nice cocobolo rosewood handles and a built in level, which are all intact and very nice. Stanley only made these for about 25 years from 1911 to 1935. This one dates to 1911 to 1919. It has universal jaws which accept both round shank and taper shank bits. The sweep handle is adjustable for 3 different size sweeps, to suit a variety of situations. Frame is made of steel and very durable. The breast plate is adjustable for a holding at different angles as well. There are 2 gears for 2 speeds. To change gears, the stationary rosewood handle is unscrewed, allowing the gear assembly to slide up or down the shaft to align with the other gear. A great addition to your hand tool workshop or collection!
Length is 16 inches and it weighs 5 pounds, 3 ounces. May ship disassembled unless the buyer has any objection.
