Description

I am offering for sale this Stanley Bailey No. 6 Type 10 Ca. 1907-09 Fore Plane ~ Good Clean User Inv#CH10

This plane has been taken apart and gently cleaned. It is a Stanley No 6 Type 10 Ca. 1907-09 and it is a pre-frog adjustment screw example…. The japanning is in spotty
shape. The knob has a hairline at base and tote has tip cracked at bottom screw that has been repaired (see photo close-ups). In front of knob is BAILEY and behind frog there are (2) Patent dates: Mar 25-02, Aug 19-02 & Apr 19-10. The Stanley cutter measures: 8-3/4″ L x 2-3/8″ W. Stanley is horizontal on the lateral adjustment lever. The cutter feels very sharp but may need to be sharpened for optimal use. Plane measures: 18″ L x 2-7/8″ W. Sole & cheeks have some signs of use but have cleaned up very nicely. NOTE: The cap has a keyhole shape.
