Description

This vintage Wards Master smoothing plane is in Excellent condition and probably unused. Very nice finishes with only some minor scratches and a few tiny paint spatters. The front knob has been painted red/orange. The knob and tote are not rosewood, but another hardwood. These were made by Stanley beginning in the 1960’s and it is identical to a type 19 Stanley No. 4 plane, with a few design exceptions. All of the parts are interchangeable with STANLEY branded planes from the same era. There is no damage anywhere. The lever cap has a very tiny casting flaw on the back where it will not affect performance. The cutter has been previously prepared but is still a full-length 7.5 inches long. It will need honed for optimal performance.
