Description

I am offering for sale this FINE Henry Disston & Sons No 23 10 Pt 20″ Cross Cut Hand Saw Inv#HB47

Good Henry Disston & Sons No 23 10 Pt 20″ Cross Cut Hand Saw ready to go to work for you!!!

This saw was purchased already in refurbished condition and as you can see. I believe it is post 1940’s. It reads Disston U.S.A. on medallion and on the blade a visable etching reads: Henry Disston & Sons D-23 Philadelphia. It has a beautiful refinished wheat design apple handle that has the initial “J” carved into it on both sides and few typical dings & nicks from toolbox but overall in excellent refinished condition. (Feels smooth as glass). Medallion and brass hardware are polished and shining. NOTE: Below handle there is no number indicating PPI because it appears that 9 teeth have been completely ground down (see closeup). Blade measures 20″ L x 5-3/8″ W at heel x 1-3/8″ W at tip. Blade is sharp, straight, has some pitting, dark spots but no dents or dings. Its a lightweight and weighs 1 lb 2 oz.
It has a great feel when in your hand and a nice patina. (see all photos).
